In Session 2, Dr. Scott Reed, Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University, will share his experiences in the West. In his role, Dr. Reed directs the OSU Extension Service—charged with creating opportunities for Extension experts to engage with business people, growers, foresters, youth, and community leaders across Oregon then consult with OSU faculty to focus inquiry and teaching on issues important to Oregon communities. Reactants from the Applied and Extension RIG will offer issues and questions to respond. Dr. Reed has been a strong supporter of applied rural social sciences.
