This workshop will explore some of the principles of Psychosocial Interventions (PSI). It will focus on meaningful engagement and therapeutic optimism, looking at how consumers may gain empowerment and responsibility, reinforcing the possibility of ‘whole’ recovery.
Participants will have the opportunity to put into practice some effective PSI concepts and techniques, facilitating clients in recognising their strengths, coping mechanisms and utilisation of appropriate strategies.
Frank discussion will take place regarding staffs attitudes towards consumers as a result of skill acquisition, in terms of trust, involvement and collaboration.
