During the period between 2001 and 2014, we had two major transport accidents. One is a near midair collision by Jal Flt.907 and Jal Flt.958 occurred on Jan.31st , 2001. And the other one is the JR West Nippon Fukuchiyama Line Derailment occurred on April 25th ,2005. In a near midair collision, 100 persons had injuries and 9 persons among them had serious injuries by evasive maneuvers and in the derailment case, 117 persons were killed involving a driver and 562 persons had injuries. When these accidents occurred, we had not yet had disaster assistance system.
Immediately after these accidents, specially in the case of the derailment,
many informations were confusing, so victims family needed many times to visit different hospitals to find their family who had injuries.
Here I’d like to discuss about the process how to have the transport disaster assistant system concerned with transport accidents in our country and some
problems to maintain these systems.
