INTEGRATING NEW EQUIPMENT & PROCESSES TO SUPPORT CUTTING-EDGE AIRCRAFT PROGRAMS
Lessons learned at Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services’ Saint-Laurent Manufacturing Centre
Highlight Lecture - Joint Session between the AMT and ASM Symposia
Synopsis:
Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services’ Saint-Laurent Manufacturing Centre was chosen to produce and assemble the cockpit and aft fuselage of the CSeries aircraft; an aircraft which through cutting-edge design represents the perfect balance between proven methods and leading-edge technology.
The development of the CSeries program introduced new materials, new design philosophies and structures which in turn required new processes and technologies from our manufacturing facilities. As a result, the Saint-Laurent Manufacturing Centre made significant investments in equipment and processes to support the development process.
To date the first work packages have been successfully delivered to Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.
This session will highlight the technical and organizational lessons learned during the integration of new equipment and processes at the Saint-Laurent Manufacturing Centre.
