High-impact entrepreneurs tend to revolutionize the societies in which they operate and contribute to substantial job creation. The impact they have on the economy and society is disproportionately large compared to moderate or low-growth entrepreneurs. This paper presents a view of how high-impact entrepreneurship in the sub-Saharan African context is catalyzed through a range of emerging funding channels and complements the traditional micro-finance sector which supports low-growth entrepreneurs. The new avenues that are opening for high-impact entrepreneurs to finance their entrepreneurial endeavors across sub-Saharan Africa needs to be further studied and this paper proposes a framework to better understand the nexus connecting high-impact entrepreneurship, financing strategies, and policy and non-profit organisations in sub-Saharan Africa.
