Purpose: The main purpose of the study was to establish the influence of International physical factors (FDI) on the competitiveness (Flower exports). Therefore, the main research question is how does International physical factors (FDI) influence flower sector competitiveness?
Methodology: The study uses value chain analysis and the DDD Models to assess the Flower sector competitiveness in Kenya. Data was obtained from sector associations, flower farmers and other stakeholders in the sector.
Results: Study finds that International physical factors (FDI) has positive and significant effects on the competitiveness.
Unique contribution to practice and policy: Therefore, the study recommends that FDI policies target at attracting investments that provide upgrade the current activities performed in the flower value chain. Incoming investors should develop and enhance value addition in the sector. They will bring new technology that will be used for upgrading activities.
