The manufacturing sector is widely considered to be the ideal industry to drive Africa’s development and is one of the key sectors that has been identified to deliver the expected 10% annual growth rate in Kenya’s Vision 2030. However its contribution to GDP has continued to stagnate and exporting firms being found to be relatively inefficient in their exporting activities. The research objective will be to determine the direct influence of Strategic response capability and the moderating influence of operational capabilities on a firms export performance. A triangulation research design will be employed to collect data which will be analyzed from 26 export manufacturing firms located within Kiambu County. A Questionnaire will be used to collect data that will be analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to come up with findings that will assist exporting companies in Kenya to be more competitive in their exporting ventures.
