The purpose of this paper is to identify key trends of business landscape of Africa due to globalization and internal dynamics and propose a unique set of compatible leadership competence framework. The result indicates that the impact of globalization and internal dynamics are multi-faceted. The call and effort to transform the mining and agriculture based economy to diversified Economy needs driving innovation as leadership competence. The diversification and globalization in turn necessitates competitiveness as a leadership competence. Leaders need to acquire Political acumen to deal with the political landscape of Africa. The multiple players of globalization and actions and strategies being adapted needs leaders with competence of managing complexity. Unifying diversity by creating common good and value is a competence requisite to manage multiculturalism in Africa. Responsive leadership competence is a quest of the time in the face of inequality, unemployment and environmental degradation for African business leaders.
