Africa is attracting various investors, corporate executives, and scholars as an emerging market of new growth opportunities. The business culture in Africa has changed because of the proliferation of globalization, changes in technology, collaboration of stakeholders, trade agreements, and labor markets. Though the economies of many African nations are emerging faster than many other countries challenges to development remain considerable. Africa, unlike many developed nations, continues to be marred by poverty, hunger, corruption, poor education, ill health, and violence. While there has been a growing body of global research that reflects the implementation of CSR to enhance financial performance and societal obligations, relatively few have addressed the issues on how to implement strategic CSR in Africa. This study therefore seeks to show that employing strategic CSR can assist with the tackling of GCs and facilitate development.
