There are in the UK many Heritage and Arts-related properties whose owners are asset-rich but time-poor. Their contribution to the economy, both local and national, can be substantial.
How do we classify these and address them in social and business terms? Often not meeting the criteria suited to obtaining public funding, there may be opportunities to relate some of the themes to small business and entrepreneurial marketing, social enterprise and not-for-profit marketing.
To what extent might the actions described show evidence of patterns that are typical of a small business and its owner-manager rather than of a larger company?
What recommendations could be made to improve both the operations and the profitability of the business?
How can the owners balance the needs of their family, their business and the local community?
