Catherine Heggerud

University of Calgary

Catherine Heggerud is an energetic life-long learner. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (specializing in Marketing and Finance) and a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management & Organizational Development), both from the University of Alberta. She successfully completed the Queens University Strategic Leadership Program; the Women’s Leadership Foundation’s Invitational Program in Transformational Leadership; and attended the University of Texas (Austin) Art and Science of Effective Negotiation. She also holds a CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) designation. As a participant in the Women’s Executive Network Wisdom Top 100 Mentoring Program, Catherine was mentored by influential leader Margaret-Ann Armour, University of Alberta Faculty of Science’s associate dean of diversity. Through the experience, Catherine gained insight into how to continue to pursue an ambitious career path.Deeply involved in her community, Catherine feels very strongly about sharing her talents in the interests of helping create a better world. She is a popular guest lecturer at the University of Calgary where she has been repeatedly invited to speak to students about the importance of workplace ethics and organizational culture.

Lindsay Sill

WestGrid

Lindsay is the Executive Director of WestGrid. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Victoria and previously worked as a Laboratory Manager in the Department of Medicine for the University of Calgary. Lindsay is an Advisory Board member of the first international and Canadian chapter of the non-profit organization Women in HPC, which works to improve the gender balance in advanced research computing. Her volunteer work includes Let’s Talk Science and Women in IT, which is is an annual, national program targeted at teenage girls with the purpose of changing their perceptions about careers in IT.

Julielynn Wong

Julielynn Wong, MD, MPH, is a Harvard-educated, award-winning physician, innovator, and journalist and our final keynote of the conference, today at 11:10 am. Dr. Wong combines knowledge and real-world expertise in technology and innovation for healthcare. She founded the Center for Innovative Technologies and Public Health, whose mission is to educate leaders on applying technologies to address the greatest challenges in healthcare. She founded 3D4MD, which creates 3D printable medical supplies to deliver healthcare in the most challenging places to those who need it the most. Dr. Wong serves as a faculty lecturer at Singularity University and co-founded its Digital Health and Wellness Program. Wong has reported for ABC World News, Forbes and the Huffington Post, and made numerous television appearances, including an Emmy-nominated series on Discovery Channel.
