Robin Winsor

Cybera

Robin Winsor is a technology leader and entrepreneur who has led several organizations from start-up and growth to international success. He has worked in both the commercial and non-profit sectors, specializing at the crossroads where information technology is applied to traditional sectors such as oil and gas and health. He is often sought as a speaker on the use of technology for the public good.Before joining Cybera as President and CEO in 2010, Robin invented and developed the world’s first direct digital x-ray system. The company he formed around this, Imaging Dynamics, won the 2005 Cool Companies Award for being an innovative and exciting place to work. He is a past recipient of a Manning Innovation Award, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and in 2012, received a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding service to Canada. He holds multiple patents and has authored standards that are still used in the medical, well-logging and seismic industries.

Alfonso Licata

ORION

Alfonso has a strong track record in the design and launch of new and disruptive enterprises in the technology space and across multiple market segments. At ORION, Alfonso helps drive the organization’s strategy forward in a highly collaborative and strategic manner.He brings his unique blend of experience in user-first service, teamwork, and strategic alliance-building to bear on solving the complex problems faced by Ontario’s research, education and innovation community.Alfonso is also a Volunteer Mentor and Entrepreneur in Residence, supporting teams and companies at Ryerson University’s Digital Media Zone (DMZ), Communitech and MaRS. He previously held a similar role at Deloitte, after co-founding several technology-based companies over the last 15 years.

Bala Kathiresan

BCNET

Bala brings over 25 years of information systems and strategic leadership experience to BCNET. He has a solid track record of facilitating strategic vision, managing execution and achieving organizational excellence both in the public and private sector. Bala has successfully led the development of strategic alliances and partnerships across a wide spectrum of stakeholders enabling a shared vision. He served on numerous not-for-profit and public sector boards and chaired various board committees including finance, audit and compensation committees. Bala holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, an MBA and a certification in the Institute of Corporate Directors.
