Efficient Research Data Management Using Globus SaaS

Mary Bass is Director of Communications and Outreach for the University of Chicago’s Globus, a research data management service with tens of thousands of users worldwide. At Globus, Mary’s role is to broaden awareness of the service and understanding of its value in order to help grow its adoption and make it self-sustaining. Mary has over 18 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing and business development for HPC software and hardware organizations such as Cray, Altair and Univa. With a passion for communication and creative problem-solving, especially in support of innovative technologies that impact the greater good, Mary has worked with global corporations, universities, and startups to develop strategy, messaging, media plans, growth programs, partnerships, and content. Mary taught high school math for seven years before shifting to her current career. She holds a BS in mathematics cum laude from Davidson College in North Carolina.
