Wandschneider Bo

University of Toronto

Bo Wandschneider has spent 30 years in Higher Education.  Bo started as CIO at the University of Toronto in May 2017.  Prior to that he spent 5+ years as the Associate Vice Principal of Information Technology and CIO at Queen's University and 24 years at the University of Guelph in various roles from It Coordinator to Deputy CIO. He participates in a number of provincial and national  Higher Ed and IT organizations including OUCCIO, the ORION CIO Advisory Group, CUCCIO Board, Research Data Canada, The NRC - Research Information and Technology Advisory Committee, and the Portage Advisory Committee.

Ryan Kenny

University of Windsor

Ryan Kenney is the Executive Director, Information Technology Services at the University of Windsor.  This role provides strategic leadership in building and supporting the University of Windsor’s information technology (IT) infrastructure and services, which includes multiple units and more than 70 full time staff. Ryan has over 20 years of professional, cross-functional experience in both the private and public sectors and has spent the past 11 years at the University of Windsor in a number of progressive roles on campus.  Ryan was appointed to the role of Executive Director, Information Technology Services in May 2017 and is focused on providing an effective, comprehensive and secure technology environment that facilitates the delivery of high quality and sustainable services in support of the University’s mission through active leadership, innovation and collaboration.

Gayleen Gray

McMaster University

Gayleen has been the Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at McMaster University since August 2017. Gayleen has been in Higher Ed IT for 18 years and moved to her current position from the University of Guelph where she was the Deputy CIO and an Associate Director for their central IT organization. At McMaster, Gayleen works closely with her academic and administrative partners to explore new ways in which technology can support the mission of the university, while cultivating a strong and collaborative IT campus community.  Her passion is leadership and building high performing teams and she participates in a number of provincial, national and North American Higher Ed and IT organizations including OUCCIO, the ORION CIO Advisory Group, CUCCIO, and EDUCAUSE.  

Sally Felkai

Emily Carr University of Art and Design

Sally has been CIO for Emily Carr University of Art and Design for just over one year. During that time she has lead her team through a transition to a new campus and a new data center. Previously, she was Manager of Research Systems at UBC leading the team who built and managed the research tracking and compliance system. Before that she held various Product Management positions for software companies such as Pivotal, Faronics, Vivonet and Tekion. Sally is a certified coach and has a engineering degree from University of Waterloo.

Martin Bernier

University of Ottawa

Martin Bernier is the new CIO at the University of Ottawa since April 2018. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of information technology and organizational transformation. His career path is notably diversified including experience in various industries in Canada, United States, and Europe and has served as an executive and a consultant in private and public organizations. He spent the last seven years in the federal public service as the CIO and DG at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2015 to 2018) and the CIO at the National Capital Commission (2011 to 2015). Martin also held various executive positions such as a Strategic Advisor in the health sector, leading his own consulting company, and VP of Information Technology for Brookfield Renewable Energy.
