Your Data or Your Dog: Enterprise Backups for Macs

Geoff Brown

Simon Fraser University

Geoff Brown hid the time spent playing with his IBM XT from his friends in high school. Being a closet nerd meant hiding his DOS and BASIC manuals from his friends when they came to visit after rugby games or afternoons spent at the BMX park. After graduating high school in 1993, Geoff essentially signed up for classes at Simon Fraser University and then never left. To pay for his degree, he worked in computer stores and in the computer labs at Harbour Centre. Geoff eventually took a job at SFU’s new Surrey Campus in 2001 and the rest, as they say is history. After the movie Hackers was released in 1995, it became obvious that nerds were cool, and Geoff dedicated his life to being the coolest nerd around. He’s been immensely successful in this regard.
