Analysis of different designs for the Boost Converter Applied to PV Systems

Hamiltom Confortin Sartori

Federal University of Santa Maria - UFSM

He has received the Electrical Engineer degree by Federal University of Santa Maria (2007), master degree in electrical engineering (2009) and doctoral degree in electrical engineering (2013) in the Power Electronics and Control Research Group of the same institution. Currently he is postdoctoral student, at the same research group, where develops optimized projects (reduction of volume and costs with efficiency maximization) of power converters. He has also experience in Electrical Engineering, working in the area of power converters optimal design, UPS, magnetic devices design, power semiconductors (selection, loss analysis and heat transfer systems design) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of different designs of DC/DC boost converter applied to photovoltaic systems. Different objectives are evaluated and the impact over the energetic efficiency, volume, and energy losses... [ view full abstract ]
