DOUBLY-FED INDUCTION GENERATOR CONTROL DURING UNBALANCED GRID CONDITIONS

Victor Mendes

Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG

Victor Flores Mendes received the bachelor degree in control and automation engineering and master´s degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2008 and 2009, respectively. He received the Ph.D title in 2013 with the thesis developed in UFMG and Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden), Germany. Since 2013, he is with Federal University of Minas Gerais as Assistant Professor at Electrical Engineering Department. The main areas of interest are wind and photovoltaic energy conversion systems, and ac machine drives.

Abstract

In the last few years, the number of grid connected wind conversion systems (WECS) has increased rapidly. One of the most commercialized WECS technologies is the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) that offers operational... [ view full abstract ]
