Gilberto Valentim Silva was born in Florianópolis, Brazil, on July 29, 1968. He received the B.S., M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, SC, Brazil, in 1992, and 1994, respectively. He is a Professor in the Department of Electrotechnical at Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Santa Catarina. Currently, he is a Ph.D candidate of Power Electronics Institute of Federal University of Santa Catarina. He is under the supervision of Dr. Telles B. Lazzarin and his interests include switched-capacitor converters, inverters and general modeling and simulation of switched mode power circuits.

Telles Lazzarin

Telles B. Lazzarin (S’09-M’12) was born in Criciúma, Santa Catarina State, Brazil, in 1979. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 2004, 2006 and 2010, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEL) from the UFSC, and he also works as a Guest Researcher at the Power Electronics Institute (INEP), UFSC. His interests include switched-capacitor converters, inverters, parallel operation of inverters, high-voltage dc-dc converters, ac-ac power converters and conversion systems for small wind turbines. Dr Lazzarin is a member of the Brazilian Power Electronic Society (SOBRAEP), IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES).

Roberto Coelho

Roberto Francisco Coelho was born in Florianópolis, Brazil, on August 19, 1982. He received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, SC, Brazil, in 2006, 2008 and 2013, respectively. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Federal University of Santa Catarina. His interest research areas include dc-dc and dc-ac converters, microgrids stability, renewable energy sources, power factor correction and grid-connected PV systems.
