Rodrigo de Souza Santos was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He received the B.S. degree from the São Paulo Engeneering College (FESP), and the M.S. degree in 2013 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), both in Electrical Engineering. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the Power Electronics Institute (INEP) of Federal University of Santa Catarina. He is a student member of IEEE and also a member of the Brazilian Power Electronics Society (SOBRAEP). His interests include dc/ac converters, switched capacitor converters, and current source converters.

Abstract

In this paper, a new inverter topology is proposed. The new topology is based on the Hybrid Switched Capacitor (HSC) cell, which brings the advantages of Switched Capacitor Converters (SCC) combined with the conventional ones.... [ view full abstract ]
