Cícero Marcos Tavares Cruz was born in Crato-CE(Brazil). He received the B.Sc. in Electrical Engineeringform the Federal University of Ceará in 1990. He receivedthe M.Sc. and Dr. Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineeringfrom Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 1993and 2002, respectively. Since 1994, he has been with theElectrical Engineering Department, Federal University ofCeará (Brazil), where he is now Associate Professor ofElectrical Engineering. His research interests include PowerElectronics and its applications, power supplies, power factorcorrection techniques, uninterruptible power systems, andelectric drive systems.Dr. Cícero is a member of the Brazilian Society of PowerElectronics.
