Alcantara Bastos, was born in Crato - CE, Brazil,received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Fortaleza, Brazil, in 2001 and he has received the master degree in Electrical Engineeringalso from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in 2005. He is currently aprofessor at the Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE), Caucaia, Ceará, Brazil. His main areas of interest include power supplies, power factor correction techniques, uninterrupted power systems and renewable energy systems. Ms. Bastos-Harrison is a student member of the Brazilian Society of Power Electronics (SOBRAEP).
