Leandro MichelsDr. Leandro Michels received the B.S and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Since 2009, he has been with the Power Electronics and Control Research Group of the Federal University of Santa Maria, where he holds a Professor position. In 2011 he was the general chair of the 5th Power Electronics and Control Seminar (SEPOC/UFSM), and in 2013 he was technical co-chair of the 12th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference. His current research interests include photovoltaic systems, modeling and control of power electronic systems, and applied digital control.

Abstract

Hybrid architectures inverters for photovoltaic (PV) systems are an alternative to increase energy production in PV systems under partial shading conditions. For such systems, non-shaded modules are arranged in series, whereas... [ view full abstract ]
