Preparation and characterization of 1D Ce3+-doped BaTiO3 nanostructures

Adelina - Carmen Ianculescu

University Politehnica of Bucharest

Chemist engineer, senior scientist at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Romanian Academy and professor at "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science, Department of Science & Engineering of Oxide Materials and Nanomaterials. In 1997 she obtained her PhD in Dielectric Ceramics. After two stages as CNRS - Associated Senior Scientist ("poste rouge" 2000 - 2002) and a stage as visiting professor (2003) at University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France she became a Full Professor of Ceramics Science and Technology at "Politehnica" University of Bucharest. During the last two decades, her research activity have dealt with composition - structure - properties correlations in advanced multifunctional electroceramics, "size effects" in nanostructured oxide systems (investigation of new functionalities by the change of structuring from micro- toward nanoscale) and oxide catalysts. As an expert in these fields, she has developed strong collaborations with several foreign labs from Italy, France, Austria, Croatia, Switzerland. She is member of the Council of the European Ceramic Society.

Abstract

The preparation by template-mediated colloidal chemistry, as well as the morphology and structural / functional properties of some 1D Ce-doped BaTiO3 nanostructures with the nominal formula Ba0.95Ce0.05Ti0.9875O3, were... [ view full abstract ]
