Increasing tertiary uptake through home visits, mentoring, peer group learning, acknowledgement of impact on families, plus raising awareness of community bias against tertiary study secured positive change in three Australian communities. Innovation in Equity & Access is illustrated through the work of the 'Uni4You Project' which used new approaches to reach marginalized, predominantly low SES communities. Understanding the broader context of students secured successful transition to tertiary study.
