This paper investigates the direct and moderating cross-level influence of team processes on interpersonal trust. Our findings illustrate that perceptions of teammates’ ability and benevolence are higher in teams with greater workload sharing, and perceptions of teammates’ integrity are lower in teams with greater relationship conflict. Moreover, team processes moderate the effect of trustees’ personality traits on interpersonal trust. The positive influence of trustee conscientiousness on perceptions of ability and integrity is mitigated in teams with greater workload sharing and task conflict.
