Study of Photovoltaic Cells Implantation in a Long-Endurance Airplane Drone
Vincent Boitier
LAAS-CNRS
Dr. Vincent Boitier . Former student of Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, he obtained the Agrégation of Physics in 1992 and received a doctorate in Automation, Industrial Computing of Toulouse in 1996. Since 1997, he is a senior lecturer at Paul Sabatier Toulouse III University. His research activities take place at LAAS Laboratory (CNRS) in Toulouse, within the Energy and Embedded Systems group (Energie et Systèmes Embarqués – ESE). His works are focused on photovoltaic applications of small and medium power, on energy harvesting applications and on the analysis of the potential of renewable energy sources (wind, photovoltaic, heat).
Abstract
Applications of UAVs are expanding for long-endurance mission such as agricultural inspection, fire prevention and many others. Photovoltaic cells can be added to the wing surface and extend the global endurance of the UAV.... [ view full abstract ]
