Ángel Molina-García (Senior IEEE Member 2011) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Spain, in 2003, where he is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include wind power generation, PV power plants, renewable energy resource integration, and energy efficiency.

With the increasing number of variable speed wind turbines generators connected to the grid, new frequency control strategies need to be developed for them. This paper presents a new fast power reserve emulation controller for... [ view full abstract ]
