In recent decades, process management has become a major trend in healthcare organizations, indicating chain as value configuration. The aim of the paper is to describe and analyze implementation of process management in a healthcare organization, based on value configurations. A qualitative case study was performed on a healthcare unit that had formalized its care processes according to process management. The study showed how different value configurations are present parallel and intertwined in healthcare, and that implementing concepts emphasizing one value configuration do not replace current value configurations, because management is only one of several logics that influence action.
