This paper explores the processes underpinning the creation of value in inclusive arts programmes delivered by publicly funded organisations in Scotland. Building upon the principles of the Public Service Logic (Osborne, 2017), this paper analyses the activities that lead to the creation or destruction of value in interactive service encounters. It does so by addressing the perspective of the multiple actors involved in the planning, design and delivery of art workshops aimed at people with learning disabilities and additional support needs. Findings of this study shed some light on the role that interactive service encounters play as platforms for value co-creation and contribute to the debate on value creation and destruction in publicly funded services, highlighting the managerial implications for organisations engaging in service relationships with users who face barriers to interaction and their caregivers.
