On the background of urban renewal, commercial complex is usually located in old districts and it will cause the agglomeration and diffusion of commercial network of its surrounding region. From the perspective of spatial distribution, this paper aims to illuminate both agglomeration and diffusion. Due to commercial complex in old city center usually contributing to improving its land value as well as commercial atmosphere, the hypothesis is that an increasing number of commercial networks will agglomerate in the core region affected by commercial complex, at the same time, the commercial diversity will enrich too. However, we suppose there are some differences among peripheral and competition regions. By the method of regression, this paper takes Chongqing as an empirical case to verify the hypothesis of commercial network’s spatial distribution. We found the following results: 1) along with the construction of the commercial complex, a great number of commercial networks appear in the core renewing area while the peripheral and competition areas doesn’t increase that much; 2) spatial diffusion of commercial network follow the Distance-decay Laws basically; 3) the commercial diversity is also improved significantly in the core region while other regions have discrepancies.
