Lauren D. Black III is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University. His lab focuses on the development of new therapeutic strategies to treat cardiac injury and/ or malformation in both pediatric and adult patients. He has received numerous awards including the NSF CAREER Award, a 2014 Young Innovator Award from the Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Journal and the 2015 Young Investigator Award from the Americas Chapter of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS). He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Tissue Engineering Journals (parts A, B and C) and serves on the TERMIS Americas Chapter Council.
