My name is Le Thi Thanh Thuy (Ms). I have earned my M.D. at Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2001. From 2002 to 2007, I have awarded the Japanese Monbusho scholarship for PhD course in Osaka University, concerning about HBV genotypes in Vietnam. From 2007-2014, I worked as postdoctoral fellow at Osaka University for 2 years, and then Osaka City University for 5 years. From 2015- present, I am a Project Associate Manager at Department of Hepatology, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka City University. I am interested in pathophysiological role of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and cancer. My works concerned in the function, and mechanism action of Cytoglobin, a recently discovered protein in HSCs by my professor, Norifumi Kawada. My work uncovered the potential role of Cytoglobin in anti-fibrosis and –cancer which is under further mechanism analysis and target treatment therapy. I published (just) 15 peer-review papers including those in Nature Communications, Hepatology, American Journal of Pathology, and Scientific Reports. I contributed to write (only) 2 book chapters published in Elsevier and Springer publishing groups. I have presentations in main conferences in the field of hepatology in Japan and in the world, including those from American (AASLD), Asian (APASL), etc…with several prizes from conferences or medical associations. Attending this meeting is a good chance for me to gain knowledge, to collaborate, and importantly, to make friends. I am very happy if you leave me a message (^=^). My email:

This study clarified the role of Cytoglobin (Cygb), the fourth globin in mammals expressed in rat hepatic stellate cells, in bile duct ligation (BDL)-induced cholestatic liver disease. BDL augmented inflammatory reactions as... [ view full abstract ]
