Dra. Irene Intebi

Irene Intebi is a psychiatrist for children and youth and a clinical psychologist who has worked in the field of child abuse - in the areas of prevention, treatment and interdisciplinary training - since 1985. She has worked, directed and advised various governmental and nongovernmental interdisciplinary projects in Latin America and Europe and is the Former President of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN). She is serving as Co-Chair for the 8th International Conference Latin American on child abuse and Child Sexual abuse (Chile, October 2013).



She is a reknown lecturer and international speaker on issues of child protection and has written books and articles on child abuse and child neglect in Spanish and English. Dr. Intebi is the author of "Child sexual abuse: In the best families" (Doubleday, 1997) and "Protect, repair, penalize: evaluation of suspected child sexual abuse" (Granica, 2011).
