Esther Feijen-de Jong is a registered midwife, a researcher in the field of midwifery and a lecturer in midwifery as well. She has gained lots of experience in mentoring students and is very enthusiastic about their learning processes which has resulted in research about midwifery students' professional socialization, and their professional identity development. Next to this she is an expert in research about midwifery care organization. She combines research, midwifery practice and lecturing, which is the best combination for her to develop research to improve midwifery care.
