Alva Barry is a surgical Clinical Research Nurse at the Limerick University Hospital. She has a clinical background in general nursing and midwifery.Sylvia Murphy Tighe is a Lecturer in the Dept of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Limerick with a clinical background in general nursing, midwifery and public health nursing. Her research interests include women’s health, maternal and child health, antenatal education, parenting and attachment. Her doctoral research is exploring the phenomenon of concealed pregnancy in contemporary Ireland. She is chair of the Women & Child Health Research Group in the Dept of Nursing and Midwifery, UL.
