Join Dr. Alistair Bath as he steps in and out of his facilitator role as he demonstrates his applied human dimensions facilitated workshop approach that has been used in a variety of conservation issues from urban biosphere questions with Israelis and Palestinians, national large carnivore management plans in Croatia and Bulgaria, caribou and brown bear issues with First Nations and aboriginal groups in northern Canada and most recently wood bison restoration in Alaska. With more than 20 years of facilitation and conflict resolution experience, Alistair has always achieved 100% consensus with all interest groups in every conservation issue he has been given the opportunity to resolve. Learn about a variety of public involvement techniques, how to explore issues from visions through to details, and learn about your own signals and those of others that are sent during discussions. Most of Alistair’s work has occurred in countries where he doesn’t speak the language that participants work in, but he finds solutions because most of how we communicate is through our body language. Enjoy an interactive training session where you will leave with an understanding of how to conduct a facilitated session, strive to reach consensus in an exercise with others, learn to read and deal with people by picking up on body language, and hear about proven success stories from a leading expert in this applied aspect of human dimensions in wildlife management.
