Kenya’s ‘Conservation Revolution’: Lessons Learned from Community-based Conservancies in a Regional and Global Context

Since 2010, a major and rapid devolution of conservation to the local level has occurred in Kenya. This devolution was already taking place, but accelerated rapidly with the enactment of Kenya’s new constitution, which devolved significant power and resources to the county level throughout the country.
