Carlos Henrique Illa Font was born in Erval Grande, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 2001, 2003 and 2009, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electronics Engineering, Federal University of Technology – Paraná, Campus Ponta Grossa. His research interests include power electronics, power factor correction, AC-DC converters, and power converters for small-scale renewable energy. Dr. Illa Font is a Member of the Brazilian Power Electronic Society, IEEE Power Electronics Society and IEEE Industrial Electronics Society.
