Mauricio Mendes da Silva was born in Cachoeira do Sul, Brazil, in 1970. He received the B.S., M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2000 and 2015, respectively. Since 2013, he has been with the Power Electronics and Control Research Group, UFSM. Brazil. His research interests include modulation and control of multilevel converters and power electronics applied to renewable sources.
