Denizar C. Martins (M’88) was born in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, in 1955. He received the B.S and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 1978 and 1981, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnic National Institute of Toulouse, Toulose, France, in 1986. He is currently a Titular Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UFSC. His interest research areas include dc-dc and dc-ac converters, high-frequency soft commutation, power factor correction and grid-connected photovoltaic systems.
