Comparison of Modular Multilevel Topologies for AC-to-AC Applications

Patrick Himmelmann

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

Patrick Himmelmann got his diploma in electrical engineering and information technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2011. Then he went to Siemens in Nürnberg to develop modular multilevel Converters for medium voltage drives. He returned to the KIT in 2016 to pursue a PhD in Electrical Engineering. His main area of research are Solid State Transformers based on modular multilevel converters.
