John Fossum is a Sr. Electrical Engineer at NREL’s Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF). His work at ESIF has focused on hardware-in-the-loop experiments designed to improve integration of distributed energy resources with the electric grid. He has worked with utilities and industry testing microgrid controllers, renewable energy inverters and smart vehicle charging technologies. He has a background in SCADA and controls engineering. He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
