Dr. Sabzehgar is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Emerging and Advanced Green Energy Laboratory (EAGEL) in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at San Diego State University. He is specialized in several areas related to Electrical Engineering including power electronics, electric/hybrid electric vehicles, energy harvesting, renewable energies, smart grids, smart microgrid, power management, power optimization, control applications in sustainable energy systems, and mechatronics. Prior joining San Diego State University, he was a faculty member of School of Energy at British Columbia Institute of Technology and the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University, Metro Vancouver, Canada, where he also received his Ph.D. degree and continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow. He was the Chair and Vice-Chair of Power Electronics Chapter in Vancouver from 2012-2014.
