Yan Zhang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Xi'an Uniersity of Technology, Xi'an, China, in 2006 and 2009 respectively, and the ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2014. He then joined the XJTU Electrical Engineering School as a teaching faculty from 2014. Since early 2016 he is also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Queen's University, Kingston, Canada. His research interests include topology, model and control of power electronics systems, high step-up DC-DC converters, and power electronics applications in renewable energy and distributed generation.
