I want to design an emoji-based app similar to products such as Kimoji. I want to use my own imagery, but design my digital identity in a style that could be loosely described as painterly. I currently produce a large amount of digitally painted material, and focus on publishing it on a social media platform. Like Kimoji, by body would be anatomically incorrect, and would be found in scenarios ranging from sexually provocative to euphoric egoism and materialistic indulgence. I hope this presentation would bring into question ideas of identity performance, digital curation of identity, the current state of communication (specifically between millennials), the insertion of marketing in almost every aspect of our daily lives, and the ever growing need to be your own brand ambassador. I am currently working with a computer science major to write code and make the app available on the app store for both apple and android devices.
