In this session, presenters will share findings from original projects drawing on Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) theories and methods. CDA posits that by analyzing the language employed in spoken and written texts, we can better understand issues of identity, community, and power. Participants in this panel will discuss what they learned about the Middlebury College community--and about higher education more broadly--from their in-depth analysis of Campus newspaper articles, student surveys and interviews, and other textual data.
