What kind of behavior (if any) do women perceive as sexist?
Is gender discrimination a thing of the past?
Do you have to be educated about sexism in order to see it?
Why would girls want to be equal to guys, anyway?
How did a visit to Viena last spring break led to a break-up, but more importantly- an unmatched research passion and a series of discoveries?
If these questions interest you, then you can't miss this presentation.
My research paper draws on 20 in-depth interviews with Bulgarian women featuring a variety of questions related to experiences with sexism.
I begin with a short introduction of gender and sexism in Bulgaria through a review of relevant literature. I then share my theoretical framework and methodology, followed by a discussion of findings arranged by themes and stance (whether there is presence or lack of acknowledgement of sexist experiences).
