Through the analysis of Qatar's new Slavery Museum(Musheirb Museums), I will be looking at the museum's ideological and historical relevance and the powers it upholds within the political context of the region. I will be taking into consideration the history of mourning in prevalent Islamic traditions while juxtaposing it with the tradition of the museum as an institutional and politicized platform for mourning.
