This transit hub will act as a bridge to funnel pedestrians between the town of Middlebury and the surrounding reaches of New England. The building's volumes and voids will serve as both static and kinetic elements to attempt balance within a traditionally chaotic venue. Existing issues with vehicle circulation will be addressed with improved traffic flow. Additionally, surrounding residential communities will be protected with inclusion of green buffering spaces. Pedestrians will be given highest priority through sheltered circulation space and exciting recreational interiors like a public climbing gym, dance studio, and study bridge. Finally, the central garden space will function as a stormwater catchment system, reducing potential adverse environmental impacts of new impermeable surfaces.
