I will be presenting on my current thesis, one that examines how women from Western nations - namely, the United States and Europe - come to join the Islamic State (ISIS). My presentation will be centered around how women are being recruited to the group and will focus heavily on how ISIS's command of social media has greatly assisted their recruitment efforts. In addition, my presentation will include a discussion about daily life for female members of ISIS and posit reasons for which women may be choosing to travel to ISIS-controlled territory.
